When I first started cooking, one of the very few recipes I could make without messing up was Hamburger Helper. It had all the ingredients in one box and ground beef is almost impossible to overcook! So when I found this recipe it brought back memories of my first attempts to cook and I knew I had to try this "gourmet" version. It is almost as easy as making Hamburger Helper, but richer in flavor and more decadent! And the crushed red pepper gives it a nice kick! You can always add more pepper if you want it to be spicier or just leave it out altogether. The recipe had just the right amount for me since I don't love overly spicy food. And there was plenty of leftover for the next few days. If you prefer to not have any leftovers, I would cut the recipe in half.
- I used 1 cup of cheddar cheese to not make it overly cheesy
-I had a pre-made 24oz. jarred pasta sauce so used this instead. It had garlic in it so added a little more flavor.
This is the jarred sauce I used
ENJOY!
